A man who was given $300,000 by a bank has sued the bank after the balloon floated away from him last year.
According to the lawsuit, the $300 million balloon had been placed on a boat in the middle of a lake in the Bahamas.
A few weeks later, the balloon landed in a nearby field, where it was broken up by a fisherman, according to the suit.
It was recovered on February 17, 2018, and the suit says it was then auctioned off by the bank for $15 million.
The suit also claims that the bank gave a $1,000 gift certificate to the balloon’s manufacturer.
The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Federal District Court in Washington, D.C.
The bank said in a statement that it had no comment on the lawsuit.
